    hello everyone...
    want to get to the point?? the ranting starts in paragraph 2!! LOL

    yeah LOL we so have to talk right now!!

    for those of you who don't know this, i'm from America and up until a few years ago manga and anime was something one couldn't get so easily. we had to buy things that were bootleg, illegal, or had to special order things. even though the manga style is still thought as a "lower class" art style, it is slowly gaining respect from Americans and in my university ( SVA ) there are actually classes dedicated to comics of this style.

    NOW ON TO THE RANTING!!!!

    okay, im thrilled that the good ol' USA is keeping up with the times and embracing this style.... but.... okay. im sure some of you have heard of the new Speed Racer movie coming out ( or did it already come out?? ) theres a new cartoon of it too on Nickelodeon ( i just happened to come across it today = __ = ) it's so f**king foolish!!! it seriously looks like a cheap flash animation!! i seriously WISH that if America ,or any other country for that matter, wanted to adopt the anime style they would keep their standards high while doing so!! :shakefist: i wish they would realise what it is that makes anime so special and apealing and draw from THAT!! all they see are bug eyes, spikey hair, and speed lines!!! like has anyone heard of a piece of shit show called "kappa mikey??" yeah. look it up.

    it's ass.

    and "Totally Spies"?? WHY do they keep making these cheap imitations!!!!???

    America is also making a live action "Dragon Ball Z" movie which i am soo scared of seeing to be honest > . < i don't want to feel that over whelming rush of shame and embarrassment when ever the trailor comes on tv!! PLEASE make a good movie!!! PLEASE!! Avril Lavine ( how ever you spell her name... ) has a manga out too, so does the Bambi movie, and if im not mistaken so does Hannah Montana...

    I wish America would stop treating this beautiful art form as just another way to make money off of us, and treat is as it is!! make something worth while and something that will keep us hooked and happy!! Marvel comics has also let out a wave of manga inspired stories and a redone version of the fantstic 4 and X men in the quote "manga style". it;s embarrassing!!! DX

    I have to whole-heartedly agree. I hate when they have to mess with things they know nothing about. Take sometime to learn and appreciate it instead of rushing off with it. Like what they do with dub, which I honestly can't handle. At least Avatar is good it has its own charm and style.
    As for the DBZ movie, I'm really worried about that, I can't see them pulling it off. Its not like Star Wars, it wasn't made for live action packed live actor movie.

    Heck don't feel so bad. Some Canadian animation isn't anything to smile about.

    I agree! I hate it, it makes even more people dislike Manga/Anime because everyone here is cheaping it down. Its hard to appreciate this Japanese style when many dont have anything valuable to base it on. T.T

    seriously!! it;s seriously as if these ppl just take a look at some of the really mainstream anime and manga, they have a bit of knowledge about things that exploded over here ( suck as sailor moon, DBZ, pokemon, and yugi oh) and think they know what it is they need to do to make a hit show!! THEY REALLY DON'T!! it's embarrassing!! :no: i used to get into so many arguments with ppl who were so against what i drew and loved! it;s just making it harder for us ppl who trying to get ppl to appreciate the style.

    *sigh* im worried LOL i saw piccalo ( i forgot how to spell his name ^^; ) he looked pretty good, but i don;t know what they're gonna do with Goku or Vegeta > . < i think they;re gonna make a movie that takes place during the namek saga.

    XD well, if the fans of anime and manga don't like it and don't watch and read it, then they would probably stop making all this stuff.
    I actually am excited for the dbz movie (but scared also..) it's my favorite manga, but I hope they don't ruin it :( (not very many people are making good movies it seems anymore...)

    I voted on your poll it's good that it's being adopted, but they could do better

    EXACTLY!! do this is only giving ppl who hate the style more ammunition!! the things they're creating is only drawing from the stereotypes and isn;t looking more into what makes anime and manga so damn specila and uniwue!! thats the major problem!! and the animation of the knock-off shows and the illustrations of the "amerimangas" are so horribly cheap...

    it;s just so sad...

    Some people who do watch these shows who dont understand what the styles about think its wonderful. Thats a big problem too, many think this is manga/anime! But its not...

    I like those shows like Avatar. I know Avatar is not anime, but, it still looks cool, and they've made the storyline good too. Honestlt, it said Avatar was one of the best cartoons of the ones out here in the USA. I read in a gamers magazine that Avatar won soooo many awards. Not only for the style, but, for music, synopsis, and character building. I know others hate Avatar, but, I like it, even though it isn't anime. The thing I hate though, is the people who "claim" to draw manga, or produce "anime", and it's not. Any one of us, that is here in the USA, we can not be considered manga artist, and the stuff that we draw can not be consider manga, because it's only anime/manga, if you make it in Japan, because that's where it comes from. So, even though I draw "manga', I can only say that it's just cartoons, because I don't create my stuff in Japan. If you're from the USA, and you draw that stuff, and call it manga, it really isn't because it's created in America. We can only say it has a manga influence. Even me. If the art looks really pofessional, like a real manga artist, it can only be considered "manga influenced" cause it's not from Japan. Sorry, just felt like writing my whole reasoning behind why I say what I say. It'd be cool to hear what you have to say. :lol:

    Now, I do enjoy the anime/manga style ALOT!! But, what I can't stand is the fact that shows like Teen Titans and Totally Spies over-use the "big eye" or "chibi" thing. It's soooooo frickin annoying. Quit playing around, and produce something manga-related that looks original. YEEEEEESH!!! BTW, I LOVE YOUR STYLE, you know I DO!!! :hug:

    that's just the thing, the ppl who like avatar and what not seem to be anime fans = __ = or are simply younger ppl who don;t know any better hence why they keep making more and MORE death -worthy shows :shakefist:

    i LOVE DABZ and i owe my fascination and love for manga/anime to it, so i do hope they do it right... just don't know how they're gonna do it. like who would play Krillen??!!

    i almost feel like since nowadays whats making it is all these comic book hero movies, they were all "what movie can we exploit NOW?!" and realized that there are tons of manga they can use... heh.

    they could SOO do better!! :highfive: i love that more ppl here are acceting it, i just hope that they will learn to higher the standards and live up to their Eastern origins :nod: thats somethign im striving to do in my manga that im hoping to release later this year.
